Dr. Seon-Hee Jang
Has been professor at the department of dance, Sejong University since 1993. Dr. Jang is currently member of the Board for the Korean National Ballet (2014-Present). She has been the artistic director of the Jang Seon-Hee Ballet Company since 1993; She served as the dean of PR Division, Sejong University in 2010-2012 and chairperson at the department of dance, Sejong University in 2001-2005 and 2015-Present.
Dr. Jang received Ph. D. degree in Psychology from the graduate school of Yonsei University, in 2009. She also received Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree in dance from Tisch Graduate School, New York University in 1991 and Master of Arts (M.A) degree in dance from the graduate school of Sejong University in 1985. She graduated from Sejong University in 1982 with Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in dance.
Dr. Jang was member of the International Jury of the I.B.C. Varna in 2014, 2016 and 2018 and member of the International Jury of the I.B.C Arabesque in 2018. In addition, she has been the director of the Ballet Festival Korea from 2015 to 2016. Furthermore, Dr. Jang served as the vice president of the Korean Ballet Association from 2007 to 2012.
Dr. Jang has a rich oeuvre and career as leading dancer, choreographer and artistic director. Since 1993 she has choreographed, produced, performed numerous spectacles mostly for the Jang Seon-Hee Ballet Company. Dr. Jang has published many academic articles in the field of dance since 1993.
