Professor Jo Ju-Hyun
Professor of Ballet, School of Dance Performance Korea National University of Arts.
Jo Ju-Hyun is a distinguished ballet educator, choreographer, and former principal dancer, currently serving as Professor of Ballet at the School of Dance Performance, Korea National University of Arts (K-Arts).
She is also the Director of the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts.
She danced as a principal dancer with The Washington Ballet.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Ballet from the Korea National University of Arts and her Master’s degree from Seoul National University. She currently serves as Artistic Director of the Seoul International Dance Competition and the Korea World Dance Stars Festival.
She has received prestigious awards, including the 2024 Critics of Dance Award – Work of the Year for her choreography <Ballet × Sujecheon>, praised for its seamless fusion of Korean tradition and Western ballet with elegance and precision. She was honored with the Best Ballet Master Award at the 2016 Russia Open Ballet Competition “Arabesque” and won the Grand Prize for Choreography at the 29th Seoul Dance Festival in 2008.
