Nikola Hristov Hadjitanev

Nikola Hristov Hadjitanev was born on 11.12. 1987 in the city of Sofia. He graduated from the National School of Dance Art, majoring in “Classical Dance” in the class of Petar Koldamov in 2006.

He graduated with a master’s degree in ART – Management in 2019 and a specialty in Ballet pedagogy and directing in 2016 at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts, Plovdiv. Since 2006, he has been appointed to the ballet troupe of the National Opera and Ballet (Sofia) as a soloist-balletist, and since 2012 he has been a premier-soloist.

Performed the premiere roles in the performances: “Swan Lake”, “Don Quixote”, “The Nutcracker”, “Zorba the Greek”, “Bastard”, “Sylphide”, “Giselle”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “The Rite of Spring”, ” Scheherazade”, “The Goat’s Horn”, “Nestinarka”, “Rhapsody Vardar”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “The Lady with the Camellias”, “Carmen”, “Tango”, “Corsair”, “Baladerka” “Anna Karenina”, “1001 Nights”, “Middle Raised”, etc.

Participated in performances and gala performances in Russia, Italy, Greece, Germany, USA, Turkey, Croatia, South Korea, Lithuania, North Macedonia, etc.

Participated in the Festival “Stars of the World Ballet” Kremlin (Moscow), Russia, in the Festival “Stars of the World Ballet” Kazan, Russia, in the Festival “Stars of the World Ballet” Saratov, Russia. He is a guest soloist at the Vilnius Opera, Vilnius, Lithuania, the Opera House, Maribor, Slovenia, the Opera and Ballet Theater, Chelyabinsk, Russia, TO Plovdiv, TO Varna, TO Burgas, TO Stara Zagora , Ballet Arabesque. Jury at the regional dance competition DWC – 2018, at the finals of the International Dance Competition DWC Braga, Portugal – 2019 and at the regional dance competition “Bulgaria Dances”.

Winner of the 2022 and 2021 “IMPULSE” award in the classical dance category. He is the winner of the Classic FM radio listeners’ Golden Feather Award for his contribution to Bulgarian culture in 2017. He is the winner of the Partner Award of the ΧΧVI International Ballet Competition “Varna”, 2014. He is the winner of the Award of the Union of Music and Dance performers “Crystal Lyre” 2010 in the category “Ballet art”.

Grand prize at the National Ballet Competition “Anastas Petrov”, 2010, Dobrich, Bulgaria, first prize for classical dance and second prize for modern dance at the International Ballet Competition “Baroque Sicily” 2010, Modica, Italy. Finalist at the ΧΧΙΙ International Ballet Competition “Varna”, 2006, Bulgaria, first prize at the National Ballet Competition “Anastas Petrov”, 2004, Dob¬rich, Bulgaria, first prize for duet dance at the International Arts Festival, 2002 , Fivitzano, Italy, etc.
